Green Ting™ Sockett® Assembly Directions
For this Ting sock puppet project you will need:
-Ting™ Sockett® Kit
-*craft scissors
-*glue gun/glue (Aileen's Tacky glue is the ONLY cold glue substitute that will work. Although it will not work as well as hot glue. Do Not use Elmers or any other "school glue")
*Supervise children when these items are in use.
For BEST results:
- Sort the pieces and read through all of the directions at least once before begining assembly.
- Assemble all the parts before gluing them to the puppet.
- Practice placing parts before gluing them to the puppet so they go exactly where you want them to.
- Use the included chalk to mark placement when necessary.
- Keep in mind that hot glue dries very quickly. Use small drops of glue and glue as you go. This will be illustrated in different sections of the directions.
- Have Fun!!
ASSEMBLY:
EARS: Make sure Ears are facing in the correct direction before you begin [1]. Glue Inner Ear to Outer Ear. Start at the top [2] and work your way down [3]. Glue the decorative Spots to one Ear [4] Repeat on second Ear. [5].
EYES: {*Hint* Make sure Eyes Bases are facing the proper direction before you glue. If you reverse the Eye order they will not fit on your puppet properly! [1] }
Good eye contact is the secret to an engaging puppet! The bestway to achieve good eye contact is to triangulate the pupil. This means avoid gluing the pupils dead center in the whites. Rather, place them ever so slightly towards the inner edge [2]. This will form an invisible triangle with the puppet's "nose". Remember, Do Not add any glue until you have determined your desired pupil placement!
PLACEMENT: Put the sock all the way on your hand and make 2 chalk marks just Below your knuckles, about 1" apart. Make another 2 chalk marks on your finger joints between the Ear marks [1]. Put a few drops of glue along the upper edge of the Inner Ear [2]. Adhere to Ear chalk marks [3].
EYE PLACEMENT: Put a few drops of glue on the front of the Right Eye tab [1]. Adhere to chalk mark & repeat with Left Eye [2]. Glue an Eye Pom to the tab [3]. Glue Eye to Pom [4-5]. Repeat [6].
HAIR TUFT: Put a few drops of glue on the back of the Hair Tuft on the top 1/3 only [1]. Glue the tuft between the Ears. Then glue down the rest [2].
